Yesterday I wrote about how a woman from a local church was told that she is listening to Satan when she thinks and feels that she isn’t equipped to be shepherding teenage girls. And I concluded that by stating that I don’t believe my client was being influenced, used, or manipulated by Satan to think or feel that way. From my discussion with her, she was exactly right, she isn’t ready and nor do I believe it is her place to even have such authority over the lives of girls.
But there is another issue I want to address. That is, this church she goes to says that you can belong before you believe.
My question for this woman, which I asked her, is: How can you even teach the bible at church to the body of Christ, 1) when you don’t know it yourself, and 2) when the girls your teaching might not love God, especially not his word?
How do you feed the sheep when you are saying that the sheep are those who are coming to your church, and that church is a mixed bag of believers and non-believers?
As James White, a Reformed Baptist Christian Apologist would say, Theology Matters.
