One of the things that makes Darwinian Evolution and Christianity incompatible is sin. The wages of sin is death. Death is a direct cause of sin. To believe in a world where death occurred before sin is to deny that sin resulted in death.
This is why most Christians who end up believing in the Evolutionary paradigm often tend towards less and less trust in the God of Abraham and become either deists or agnostics. The Evolutionary philosophy is directly opposed to Christianity. They’re not compatible. This is not the same as saying Christianity and Science aren’t compatible. Belief in God gave rise to education, science, mathematics, etc. But the philosophy of Evolution is not compatible, but it’s not a Science either, it is a historical model of the universe.
This is a distinction which almost no one makes. Science vs historical interpretation. Science is concrete. Historical interpretation is guess work. Science can test things. Historical interpretation cannot be tested. Which is why Evolutionary theory has developed over time and there are a few different Evolutionary models. It’s adapted itself to interpret evidence. But I believe it will one day go by the wayside like the theory that the earth is flat. It’s a fad, a pretty big fad, but one that will fade.
Christians can adopt the Evolutionary model, and fit God into the model, but it’s a different God and different history altogether from the one laid out in the Bible.
We cannot base beliefs off of man made philosophies. We trust in the God who made all things and trust that He will show Himself faithful and true.
I am going to link to a ministry that has done much work to demonstrating the things I have said here. I learned much from them and still more to learn. But anything I er in are completely my own and are no demonstration of this diligent and scrupulous Ministry.
